• Technologist Mag, Yahoo! Life, the Daily Guardian AE and other media outlets quoted Christopher Ferguson, PhD, professor of Psychology, in the Aug. 1 story, “Think you’re addicted to your phone? You may have PSU.” “Technology overuse is best understood as a new symptom of age-old disorders such as depression, anxiety or ADHD, not a new set of problems,” Ferguson said. “Even if we could wave a magic wand and make all smartphones go away, these kids could still have problems overdoing other stuff.”

Women’s Health quoted Ferguson in the Aug. 5 story, “Teens with ‘problematic smartphone use’ are twice as likely to have anxiety, new studies show.” Head Topics cited Ferguson in the Aug. 4 story, “Why you probably shouldn’t worry about your teenager’s ‘smartphone addiction.’ ”
