Student Academic Support Services

Online and remote courses require having an area compatible to your study habits, as well as good study habits. The time you spend on your studies in the online environment is roughly the same as you would spend in an on-campus course, however you will need to factor in the time you spend in Canvas (the online classroom). For example, in a 4-credit online course, you should expect to spend a minimum of 12 hours per week working on the course (4 hours "in class" plus 2-3 hours per credit hour outside of class on homework, studying, and other class-related activities). If you are planning on being a full-time student, it is important to budget a minimum of 32 hours per week on school-related activities. Your effort and attitude towards your online studies can greatly impact your success. By devising a way to keep track of your assignments and due dates to plan your work you can monitor your progress. Use the following resources to strengthen your study habits and help you create a productive workspace.
