    Hello August!! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐ŸŒž Ok, so this photo was actually taken on my holiday last month, but it's so nice to finally have a spell of sunshine here in the UK! And it has got me seriously thinking... ๐Ÿค” Now we all know that the sun is one of nature's best healers, and there is no doubt we feel happier and calmer etc when we have longer days and the sunshine ๐Ÿค— Personally, I have also always known how much better and healthier I feel when I have the sun, sea and good fresh food at my figertips. ๐ŸŒŠ But this year has hugely emphasised that...so much so, that I am seriously considering moving abroad. ๐Ÿ– There are so many options, from complete relocation to digital nomad visas, and my head is fuzzy from lookig at them all ๐Ÿ˜– So, wonderul LinkedIn hive mind, I need your help!If you have experience of moving abroad, or maybe have looked into it yourself, where would you suggest to go and why?

    Is there anything better than sunshine and being out in nature to really help us heal? ๐ŸŒณ ๐ŸŒป I'm talking physically, psychologically, emotionally and spiritually ๐Ÿ’› Of course, having a gorgeous pup to walk and to feed off her joy helps! ๐Ÿพ While I used to love being outside and would marvel at the beauty of nature, I never really liked walking just for the sake of walking. ๐Ÿšถโ™€๏ธ It was something my parents, aka, 'older people' did. ๐Ÿ™ˆ Well, fast forward decades and I'm now that 'older person' ๐Ÿคฃ I owe it to Lulu for helping me appreciate walking. ๐Ÿ• Over the last few weeks whilst recovering from my hospital ordeal, being able to go outside for gentle walks (rain or shine) has been such a blessing. ๐Ÿ™ I've really learned to slow down and be completely mindful in those moments. ๐Ÿค— It has helped me SO much!How about you?     How hopeful are you? ๐Ÿค” Did you know that having hope is a core component of resilience?This came up in a session I was running recently and it's a fascinating conversation. ๐Ÿ™‚ I hear many stories of immense struggle in people's lives, and those that come out wiser on the other side have something in common - they have hope that it will be ok.So, what is hope? โ€œHope isnโ€™t a denial of what is, but a belief that the current situation is not all that can be,โ€ said Thema Bryant, PhD, American Psychological Association. โ€œYou can recognize somethingโ€™s wrong, but also that itโ€™s not the end of the story.โ€Hope is also not passive but instead, proactive. So it's not just 'wishing' something will change. It's actively thinking and doing things to move forward. ๐Ÿ‘ฃ Imagine knowing there is light at the end of the tunnel, but you can't quite see it yet. ๐Ÿšˆ Hope is taking steps towards it trusting you will get there. ๐Ÿ’› So when things get tough, and life and the world can feel so dark, focus on the light. ๐Ÿ•ฏ Maintain a hopeful outlook and this will help us all.#Hope #Resilience #Psychotherapy

    Not quite the relaxing weekend I had in mind...๐Ÿ˜ฃ When you go on holiday to relax and recuperate after a pretty stressful time, to end up in A&E the day after you get home ๐Ÿ˜ซ The irony! ๐Ÿ™ˆ I picked up a stomach bug while I was away and turns out, it was actually pretty nasty causing infectious pancolitis and dehydration ๐Ÿ˜• All credit to the staff here though as they've been fantastic and I'm starting to feel more human again!And my nails look pretty so yay ๐ŸคฃApologies to anyone who is waiting for a response from me - I'm slowly starting to catch up today. And before anyone says it, I am resting and being sensible - just also trying to keep the cabin fever at bay ๐Ÿ˜€

    I realise I've been pretty absent again from here of late.A combination of being away and also having a difficult week. In the last 7 days, these two beautiful fluffballs have crossed the rainbow bridge. ๐ŸŒˆ The very handsome greyhound belonged to a dear friend of mine. They were staying with us when he sadly deteriorated quite quickly and so the decision was made to take him to the vet. ๐Ÿ˜” The same was true for the cat - she got very sick very quickly.The blessing is that both of them lived very long and happy lives and didn't suffer too much. ๐Ÿค— They have brought so much joy in so many ways and I'm very grateful for that.Loss is never easy and it's so important to take the time to process and to grieve.It's also important to prioritise and over the last week, it's been more important for me to be there for my friend and look after myself.Sorry LinkedIn, you went to the bottom of the pile ๐Ÿ™‚ But, business will resume as usual next week!I hope you're all doing ok and wishing you all a fabulous weekend.#Loss #Pets #TakeABreak
